This Saturday, January 19th, come to the world premiere of the new big-wave surf film "QUEST FOR FEAR" at The Independent in San Francisco. The film is a documentary about a break in South Africa called "Dungeons" and the film's soundtrack is exclusively music by The Mermen, unreleased ensemble material and solo work by Jim Thomas.

Following the premiere, The Mermen (Thomas, Whitman, Jones) will perform a full-length set that will likely include new material to be released later this year.

This event is sure to draw out many of the participants of last weekend's Mavericks Surf Contest, and word is the film will include some footage from "Big Ugly Tuesday" in Northern California in early Dec. 2007. Don't miss it!
